Dear Colleagues and Friends, It is a great pleasure and privilege for us to extend a warm invitation to cardiologists and related specialists to attend the 10th International Congress of the Polish Cardiac Society. The Congress will be held in Gdynia-Sopot-Gdansk, called TriCity. The thousand-year-old Hanseatic Gdansk, the birthplace of Solidarity is considered the most monument-abounding city of the Baltic Europe. Sopot is located between Gdynia and Gdansk, the beautiful woods and sand beaches of the Bay of Gdansk and is known as a genuine seaside health resort center. Gdynia is a young, quickly expanding window to the world situated just at the seashore founded as a Polish harbor in 1921. With Women at Heart ESC initiative in mind, the leading topic of our congress will be cardiovascular diseases in women. These initiatives is aimed at highlighting to medical professionals the growing burden of women's heart disease and promote improved handling of women at risk of cardiovascular disease in clinical practice. The official languages of the Congress will be Polish and English. Oral and poster presentations of original work are welcome. The participants will have an opportunity to share experiences, to meet and discuss with authorities in fields of cardiology and cardiac surgery. This forthcoming Congress will highlight new trends in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The scientific program will be current, relevant and educational. To achieve this, we are planning plenary and educational sessions, lectures, symposia, workshops, free paper and poster presentations concerning the latest achievements of Polish and worldwide cardiology. A traditional social programme will provide an opportunity for you to meet with colleagues, sometimes old friends and to get acquainted with Polish tradition, culture and hospitality.
